 Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is approaching quickly! Our Todd Academy PTSA put together a week at a glance filled with ideas show appreciation for the amazing job our teachers and staff do! This year's theme is "How Sweet It Is To Be Taught By You!"

Spirit Day Alert!!

Star Wars day is on Wednesday, May 4th. Join in on the festivities and wear your favorite Star Wars gear. May The Force Be With You!!


State Testing has begun!

We ask that you please avoid picking up your student or dropping them off late during this time to eliminate the amount of interruptions in the classrooms. Please see the schedule below:

Elementary Schedule:

5th Grade - Monday April 18th Science

3rd,4th,5th & 6th - Monday, April 25th-28th: Language Arts May 9th-11th: Math

Intermediate Schedule:

7th & 8th Grade - Monday, April 25th-May 3rd: Language Arts, May 5th-13th Math

8th Grade - May 16th-May 20th: Science

Intermediate students will be on block schedule during this time: 

Mon/Thurs - Odd Periods       Tues/Fri - Even Periods      Wed - Regular Schedule

P. 1 or 2 = 8:00-9:35

P. 3 or 4 = 9:40-11:15

Lunch 11:15-11:45

P. 5 = 11:50-12:40 

P. 7 or 6 = 12:45-2:20


Dress Code Policy

As a reminder, flip flops are not to be worn to school. Students must wear closed toed shoes or sandals with a strap on back while on campus for their safety.

Chess Masters

We are happy to announce another amazing afterschool program opportunity for our Toucan's, Chess Masters! This program will begin on Tuesday, April 19th and every Tuesday through May 31st. Please see flyer attached for registration information:

We are so excited to have our Afterschool Art Stars program back. They are held each Wednesday from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Please go to to to register and pay.


Birthday Treats in Class

As a reminder, due to the many allergies and special diets of some of our Toucans, treats and snacks are not allowed for birthday celebrations. Feel free to send a non-food goodie bag that can be handed out at the end of the day. 


Traffic Law Reminders:

Please adhere to all traffic laws at all times for the safety of our students.


Attention all 6th Grade Families:

It is time to get your students their necessary immunizations for entry into 7th grade.  In order for students to start the 7th grade they must have an updated Tdap and their 2nd Varivax.  Also, if your student was on any type of an exemption, you will need to update that with your student’s physician through the new State process as all exemptions expire after the end of their 6th grade year.  You can send all updated documentation to our health office, or bring it by the office for us to make a copy.

  • You no longer need to call the school to reset your Parent pin or password. You can now select NEED YOUR LOG IN INFORMATION link on Parent Connect.
  • Please ensure that emails are not duplicated in Parent Connect accounts. Each parent/guardian must have their own individual email. No family emails.
  • There can also be no duplicate information between primary contact and emergency contacts.



If you have moved or are transferring your student to a different school outside of CNUSD, you must email Maria Costello,, the following information:

  • Student's Name
  • New forwarding mailing address
  • Name of new school
  • Last day student will be attending Todd
  • Date student will be starting at new school

All devices (Chromebooks, chargers & MiFi), library books and textbooks need to be returned to the office on or before their last day. If you have any further questions do not hesitate to reach out to our office staff. 


Summer Boost 2022 - Registration requested by April 1st - Late Registrations being accepted upon space availability.

Summer Boost* is a program to provide current TK-7th grade students the chance to participate in hands-on learning over the summer break. This program is designed to excite students by connecting them to school and igniting learning for next year.

  • T Track Session 1: June 13-24

  • T Track Session 2: June 27 - July 8

Registration for the Summer Boost program will be completed through the Annual Online Registration process on Q Parent Connection

Summer Boost will not be hosted at every school site. Sites hosting the Summer Boost program will be determined by enrollment needs.


Student Drop off and Pickup:

Reminder: Please do not park in our bus zones on Mayhew Canyon Rd during school drop off and pick up times. This yellow zone is reserved for BUSES ONLY. 

Also, please do not utilize our staff parking lot to drop off students. For safety purposes, we ask that you please drive through the loop for drop off.  



***In order to return our students to school as quickly as possible, if your child is eligible to test on day 5, we are now able to provide a rapid at-home test kit. Please call our office for details.

NOTE: PRIOR to returning to school from early quarantine (day 5 testing-return day 6) you must notify our office by calling or emailing ( with your results and test date. Thank you!

  • Please screen your child(ren) before they leave home for any of the COVID 19 symptoms below. If they are sick, please keep them home-call our office to report the absence.
    • Fever (>100 degrees)
    • Headache
    • Nasal Congestion/Runny Nose
    • Sore Throat
    • Stomachache
    • Nausea/Vomiting, Diarrhea
    • Fatigue/Muscle or Body Aches
    • New Cough
    • Difficulty Breathing(not due to asthma)

    • Temperature screening is no longer required for students, all visitors to our office will be temperature checked

  • If a parent has tested positive for COVID-19 and needs to pick up their child from the school site, please call the front office for safety protocol. Please do not go into the front office.
  • If your student is out due to COVID protocols, please make sure to complete the Independent Study contract and upload it in your student document section of Parent Connect. Please see link below for more information:
  • We are excited to announce that families may walk their child(ren) to our TK/Kinder and main gates.


    Parent Volunteer Information: 

    Classroom Volunteers: We are pleased to announce that volunteers are allowed to return to the classroom. Prior to gaining access to the classroom, volunteers must adhere to the District's COVID-19 safety protocols by completing the steps shown below. Forms can be requested in the front office or downloaded from the District's website under the 'Parents' section. Additional information and protocols as they relate to parents on campus are listed below:

    • First, communicate with your teacher that you'd like to be a volunteer
    • Any family members are welcome
    • Two forms are required to be completed, Volunteer application and COVID-19 Safety Protocols. These forms are available on the district website or in the front office
    • Every volunteer must be fingerprinted at a place of your choice if you will be volunteering over 4 hours per week or attending field trips
    • Negative TB Test is required for every volunteer
    • Every volunteer will need to be temperature checked each day and must be signed in by front office staff
    • Every volunteer will need to attend a one-time Volunteer Onboarding meeting

    Our Volunteer Onboarding Meetings will be held every other Friday beginning at 8:30 am on March 11th.

    Friendly reminder regarding Kinder PM drop off:

    We are having many parents park their car in the red zone and in the loop during kinder PM arrival. This is causing a back up and students to be late through the gates. If you would like to park and walk your child up, please park outside of the loop so other families can pull through. Thank you for your cooperation.


    Spirit Wear Sales:

    Spirit wear is available for purchase (cash, check or PayPal) on Wednesday mornings before school 7:45am-8:15am or anytime online via the school's website:


    Late Arrivals:

    Families, we are seeing an increase in tardies, please be aware that 8:00 am is the late bell for Intermediate students and 8:15 am is the late bell for Elementary students. Thank you for your support.


    Medication Drop Off Procedure:

    Medications can be dropped off in the health office at any time and must have a NEW Authorization For Medication Form completed by a physician for each medication needed at school. Please click on the link below for the required form that is needed.

    Update on student item(s) drop-off procedure:

    Our Todd Academy Staff is always finding ways to best serve our Toucans! If the drop-off item is medically necessary or eye glasses, we will make sure to get these items to the student. For items such as homework, lunches, chromebooks, water bottles etc, in order to preserve instructional time, we are unable to interrupt the class. Please let your child know that you will be bringing the item OR make it a practice that if they are missing something to always come up and check the drop off table in the office. Thank you for understanding and support.  


    Attention Families:

    For the safety of our Toucans, staff and families, dogs are not allowed on our campus when dropping off or picking up your student(s).
